𝐘𝐮𝐫𝐚 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐮𝐤: From Kherson to the World’s Top 50 Models

Ukrainian model Yura Romaniuk has quickly become one of the most captivating faces in today’s fashion scene. Standing at 5'11" with brown hair, green-brown eyes, and an effortlessly elegant look, Romaniuk represents a new generation of models redefining beauty and identity in the global industry. Originally from Kherson, Ukraine, Yura has made history by becoming the first person to appear simultaneously in both the male and female Top 50 Model rankings on Models.com — a milestone that reflects the industry’s evolving view of gender and style.

A Rising Star in High Fashion

Represented by Premier Model Management (London), Oui Management, and The Industry Model Management (New York), Yura Romaniuk has graced some of the most prestigious runways and magazine covers in recent years. His portfolio includes collaborations with iconic brands such as Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs, Saint Laurent, Moschino, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Stella McCartney.

Romaniuk’s editorial presence has been equally impressive. He appeared on the March 2025 cover of Vogue Ukraine, the October 2023 cover of Vogue Korea, and in acclaimed publications like AnOther Magazine, Numéro France, M Le Monde, and La Repubblica delle Donne. His aesthetic—minimal yet powerful—has made him a favorite among both avant-garde and luxury fashion houses.

From Kherson to the Catwalks of Paris

Yura’s journey to international fame began in an unexpected way. In 2022, while still a student at Kherson National Technical University, he began posting creative self-portraits and experimental outfits on social media. One of those photos caught the attention of a modeling agent in Kyiv, leading to his first professional opportunity.

Shortly after, he made his runway debut for Miu Miu during Paris Fashion Week. “That was my first show. I was very scared—cameras in front, dozens of eyes watching, and huge responsibility. But at that moment, I realized: this is my thing,” Yura shared in an interview. His debut not only marked the beginning of a brilliant career but also positioned him as one of the few Ukrainian models to make a significant impact in global fashion.

Advocating Sustainability and Creativity

Beyond modeling, Yura Romaniuk is also a designer and sustainability advocate. While studying clothing and footwear design, he developed a passion for upcycling and handcrafted fashion. “I like giving things a new life. I sew from ties, old shirts, I use a needle and thread. It’s my way of self-expression,” he explains.

His approach challenges fast fashion norms, emphasizing creativity, individuality, and responsibility. By transforming discarded materials into wearable art, Romaniuk embodies a conscious and deeply personal vision of style—one that aligns with the growing movement for sustainable fashion.

Fashion Shows and Campaigns

Yura’s runway appearances span across major fashion capitals. His recent shows include:

Living Abroad, Staying True to His Roots

Now based in the Netherlands, Yura continues to work internationally while staying connected to his Ukrainian heritage. Having left his occupied hometown of Kherson, he uses his growing platform to inspire resilience and creativity. His story reflects not just personal success but also the strength of a generation of Ukrainian artists making their mark on the global stage.

A New Face of Modern Fashion
