𝐀𝐦é𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐆𝐨𝐧𝐳á𝐥𝐞𝐳’𝐬: Journey from Caracas to Fashion’s Biggest Stages

Born on April 27, 1995, in Caracas, Venezuela, América González initially pursued a career in medicine. She was admitted to the Central University of Venezuela, one of the country's most prestigious institutions, to study medicine. Despite her academic focus, her striking features—brown hair, green eyes, and a height of 5'11"—did not go unnoticed. Family and friends often suggested she consider modeling, but América remained committed to her studies.

Transition to Modeling

In 2018, encouraged by her sister, América attended a local casting in Caracas. Although she didn't secure a spot, she met stylist Tata Hellmund, who recognized her potential. This encounter marked the beginning of her modeling journey. An agent from Spain, visiting Venezuela, also saw promise in América and facilitated her move to Europe to pursue modeling professionally.

Breakthrough in the Fashion Industry

América's debut came in Milan, where she walked for Angel Chen. Her early career saw rapid progression, including walking for Dries Van Noten in her first season. Despite missing a Dior casting due to a train delay, she eventually walked for the brand in its Autumn/Winter 2022 show. That season, she participated in 30 shows, including Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, The Row, and Fendi.

Recognition and Accolades

América's impact on the fashion industry has been significant. Vogue named her one of the 10 breakout models of the Spring/Summer 2022 runway season. She has appeared in editorials for Vogue and its international editions, i-D, and graced the cover of Vogue Mexico. In 2022, she was named among the Top 100 Latina Powerhouses by ¡HOLA! magazine.
